The temperature has continued to drop and we are trying to keep the feeders in the garden topped up.

The feeder we bought in Tobago is a great hit and a first time visitor to our garden, the Brambling,is enjoying the fallen seeds. Normally these birds flock in large numbers so we may be topping up more regularly!

Well we have made it back to Srebarna after being away for almost a month.
We have been back to the UK and taken a holiday to Trinidad and Tobago where the bird life was amazing, as you can see from these pictures.
(From top to bottom-Bue-crowned Motmot/Rufus-vented Chchalaca, Red-billed Tropicbird on the nest and a pair of Tropical Mockingbirds)

Here in Srebarna the bird life has been enjoying the extremely mild weather, the warmest for this time of year since 1912!

Approximately 100 visible pairs of Pelicans have nested in their usual spot on the reserve and have commenced breeding. We have a small amount of snow this morning with a cold spell forecasted for the next few days, then a return to the mild weather.
Will post some pictures soon.
